What You’ll Learn
Through this course you will learn to identify and measure the essential functions and physical demands of a full range of jobs. You will be guided through the process of identifying the essential functions of a job under Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act. You’ll recognize the difference between the essential functions of a job and the physical demands of those functions. (The essential functions of a job rarely include lifting, carrying, standing, etc.) These concepts serve as a platform for learning how to prepare a thorough job analysis report. If you want to perform analyses across the spectrum of cognitive, aptitude, and temperamental demands of a job, you will benefit from the university-level resources that complement this course.
Self-Paced and Online Contact Hours
This is both an on-demand, self-paced course with the option to attend a scheduled, live online presentation of the curriculum by Roy Matheson. The live online event is scheduled approximately every 6 weeks. This course has a total of 6 contact hours.
Connecting to the Self-Paced Online Course
The process of registering for the course and actually logging into the course occurs in two steps:

Another email you will receive from the Matheson Reasonable Accommodation team contains a link to the site where the course actually takes place. Your login credentials can be found in this second email.
Attending the Live Online Course
As mentioned above, a live online presentation of the curriculum by Roy Matheson is scheduled approximately every 6 weeks.
